Justin Estenzo on rediscovering Cavite’s streets & skate spots

We are quite familiar with how Cavite has birthed and molded national figures who contributed to the progression of our country, but no disrespect, this is not gonna be about them. hehehe peace!

So… a few months ago, Vans Philippines tapped us to have a day session with their rider, Justin Estenzo. This is for his hero feature and localized campaign for the new release and improved version, the Kyle Walker Waffle Cup —the catch: roam around his hood, Bacoor, Cavite, and see how skateable the city can be, in just a day! And to our surprise, Justine came prepared with where he wants to get the job done!

"...ito na yung dati ko [pang] pinapangarap na magkaroon ako ng project para maipakita sa mga skaters na maraming spots [sa Cavite] na pwede nilang street-an at mapuntahan" as to why he chose to film it in Cavite.

Justin has been skating for quite a long time now; for him, skating is his own way of getting away from problems that are consuming his moods; it also introduced him to a lot of friends who have now become family and an added source of inspiration, and brought him to a lot of places not only in the Philippines but also in other countries.

From Justin’s perspective, the City of Cavite is yet to be scouted!! BECAUSEEEE it has a lot of skateable spots and naturals in it: be it stairs, be it naturals for good line, or a massive hillbomb that we-don’t-wanna-tell-yet-cos-it-will-spoil-an-upcoming-rad-skatefilm-that-a-homie-will-show-on-2026, Oooops!!

For the entire session, we were joined by filmers Banchi Jimena, John Santos, JB Ogaya; along with photographer Jayb Paule, and another Caviteño skater & hypeman, Raven Sumido. Whole day was packed with lots of laughing, pushing each other, and hyping up Justin! One thing is for sure: his energy is always fresh and lively. He is the type of skater who always looks out for something different to try, be it on landing a technical trick, discovering new spot/s, or being brave to be creative in what he does.

A Caviteño who is not shying away from his gifts, as well as what he can do and who he can be!
