Who Are We?

We are a collective of artists, documentarians, photographers, videographers, and filmmakers who belong to the new wave of enthusiasts and lovers of skateboarding and its culture.

The identity of “Silog”, which is derived from “sinangag + itlog” (garlic/fried rice + fried egg), is embedded in the core of Filipino food culture. It also gave rise to a process of combining the said food with various viands/dishes to expand to new combinations that are savory, rich in flavors, and textures. Its simplicity also represents Filipinos’ ways of being resourceful, experimental, and appreciative. A meal that can bring people together and share the love for good food.

Every skater is like Silogs, too. Armed with their styles, their roots, knowledge of the streets, adopted cultures, creativity & expression, and our history. This platform is an avenue to bring everyone together, celebrate each other’s works and passion, and share what we love (be it a good skate film, stories, or even food).

Why We Do What We Do?

Silog Skateboard Media came to fruition because of a curiosity of “Is there any account where we can all check our past OGs’ work, as well as the latest skate films by our homies?”

Then it birthed into an idea with the purpose of: “appreciating and celebrating past & present; and embracing our own skateboarding culture”.

Combined with our passion for this art form, we are directing our energy to the process of documenting, promoting, archiving, and telling our stories.

We are excited about what we can cook soon and where it will lead us.
